Funnily enough…

What book could you read over and over again?

To be perfectly honest, I’m not much into rereading fictional prose. I’m much more likely to reread works of poetry and non-fiction academic books and journals . With poetry my interpretation can change over time, hence poetry can always retain an air of relevance and meaning.

  1. This post feels like sipping warm tea while watching rain tap softly on the window—calm, deep, and a little poetic in itself.

You’re right—fiction often feels like a movie we’ve already watched. But poetry? It’s like a mirror that changes with our face. Same words, but they hit differently when the heart is tired or the mind is older.

Poetry grows with us. It’s like a quiet friend who doesn’t say much, but always says the right thing. You read it once and smile. Read it again and cry. Read it later and laugh at yourself.

Maybe that’s the magic—poetry doesn’t give answers. It hands you a lantern and says, “Go find your own meaning in the dark.”

    1. I couldn’t love your comment any more! Yes, poetry has the ability to illuminate, extend, challenge, enlighten and awaken us. A great poem is much like an incredible kaleidoscope of meaning and nuance. With each new reading, new meanings, emotions and connections are formed.

      1. Your words hit like that perfect second sip of coffee—warm, deep, and a little magical.
Yes, poetry really is a kaleidoscope… or maybe a fortune cookie written by the soul. Every crack opens a new surprise.
Loved this little exchange of thoughts!

      2. Yes, likewise! You’ve inspired me to make more time to write poetry, as opposed to simply churning out more bricks/words. I find a somewhat automatic and natural relationship between writing poetry and allowing my mind’s eye and intuitive thoughts and musings to flow – minus the forced contrivance often found in writing. Thanks again!!
