Let me think about it…

If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

Okay, I’d love to invite great historians, anthropologists, archaeologists, philosophers, writers, poets, musicians , artists, sociologists and ethicists from early Human civilisations, right up to contemporary times. We’d share wonderful food, drink and creative energy, and as we did our hearts and minds (okay and perhaps our waistlines) would expand, opening with new understandings of life, people and history. We’d laugh, yet somehow manage to discuss the future of humanity, historic, contemporary and future challenges and strengths. Most importantly each guest would check their egos at the door, as there would only be enough space or room at the table for open mindedness , authenticity and honest humility. No space for grandiose narcissists wanting to bask in their own brilliance, but rather a collective space for creative energy, sharing and personal and collective exploration. Who knows we might even break out the twister, and take a break from esotericism, philosophy and the political. I better start limbering up, both body and mind.

One response to “Let me think about it…”

  1. Terry Fox. As a teenager he inspired me to run marathons. For over 40 years he has inspired the world to understand the pain of cancer and try to find cures. His memory is an enduring part of what it is to be a Canadian. He was an ordinary young man who lost a leg to cancer. He had a dream to run across Canada. That dream has lived on, even when he sadly left us in body but not in spirit.
