Sigh …

What historical event fascinates you the most?

Again this type of question is too substantive to answer with a simple response. I’m fascinated by both modern and ancient history. Moreover, I’m fascinated by the vast number of historical events which could easily serve as lessons in humanity. That is historical events which could easily help shape contemporary society’s understanding of humanity, and influence thought and actions, contributing to positive change. I’m also fascinated by the interplay between the past, present and future, and the way people craft their individual and collective narratives to suit their political and social agendas. We could learn so much, yet collectively we choose to ignore the lessons, and bathe in ignorance and shortsightedness. Why are there still wars? It’s a rhetorical question, as I know why wars are still being waged. Do you?

    1. Because there’s a literal cornucopia of historical event I’m fascinated with. I couldn’t choose just one. I do believe I’d love to venture the ancient world, sit upon the forum steps in Pompeii, listening to a play or philosopher , perhaps see Mt Vesuvius before it erupted.
