I dream of one day hosting my own photography and poetry exhibition. One where the two Artforms merge seamlessly, intuitively into one. A mere extension of the other, helping to flesh out the other’s depth, meaning, creative context and effect. Each framing the other, adding additional nuanced meaning and emotion. Both mediums framed to tell the same story, yet using different emotions and tones. Light and shade, depth and texture.
I dream of having the much-needed, deeply grounded self-belief, the faith in my artistic ability to create works that resonate with others. I dream of sharing my vision, stories, and dreams with others, catching the imagination and hearts of those who ‘get’ my art. Of one day having the conviction, courage, and passion to put myself out there, to be bold and fearless regardless of the outcome. My goal is to be brave, accepting the risk of failure and the potential of success. I dream of stepping out from behind my shadow and embracing my artistic dreams, hopes, and aspirations. I dream of stepping completely into my ‘flow’.
I dream of creating a physical space in which I get to display my works, deriving great satisfaction from showcasing them as a collection. I dream of connecting with people through my art, thus creating a range of visceral and cerebral responses amongst the audience.
Here I go. Wish me luck… as I am not just dreaming, but actually working towards manifesting them.
