What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My Dad wisely told me “in life you do not need to attend every argument you’re invited to”. This advice has served me well. Another pearl of wisdom has been “you cannot control or change the way others see or perceive you”. Additionally, the following advice has also served me well “just breathe” and “A mountain is climbed one step at a time”.
My Dad’s wedding speech also left an indelible mark on my mind and heart “everything comes down to being able to communicate with each other” and finally his words to me as an 11 year old “you could be anything you put your heart and mind to”.
Ok, my real final one would be “true compassion and generosity does not need an audience – do these things in dignified quiet” (My Dad about calling out my sister for making a song and dance about her loudly and publically showcasing her good deeds.
