If humans had taglines, what would yours be?
But sadly I don’t mean it literally. A second, minute or even hours can seem to disappear when I’m so hyperfocused. So if I say “give me a sec” it means that I’ve heard you, but still need to finish what I’m focusing on, or otherwise I’ll leave a trail of unfinished tasks. Much like the proverbial Hansel & Gretel, whereas instead of a trail of breadcrumbs, mine equates to a sad serious of great but unfinished and unrealized ideas and plans. So, “Give me a sec” is just wait, be patient and you’ll get the absolute best of and from me. It also says “Ive worked hard to focus and stay on task and not be distracted by new and exciting novel side quests” So, in effect my “Give me a sec” is another attempt at me establishing boundaries and tempering expectations.
