What does having it all really mean to me?

Daily writing prompt
What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

Great question, with the potential for an essay length response. However, given that it is a Sunday morning and I’m attempting to fit in a plethora of activities, tasks and responsibilities before today dawns and the working week chugs into motion, I’ll try to keep it brief.

Having it all = Living my life with a sense of purpose, and passion that is underpinned by good health, self-love, self compassion, self-worth, my loving family, and unhindered access to the necessary supports and resources needed to sustain true health and wellbeing. Much like a bird, I have the safety and warmth of my branch, tree and nest, yet the incredible choice to spread my wings and fly, feeling the incredible energy of the wind as it lifts and supports me. Having it all is about me being able to be me, warts and all. Having it all, also means having the confidence to take risks, to challenge myself and life’s circumstances.

Having it all isn’t about brands, labels and abhorrent wealth. No, it’s about having a healthy sense of detachment from all of that. My identity is not entwined with “stuff and inanimate objects” , I couldn’t care less about all that crap. Rather, give me substance and genuine human experience – connections built on real meaning. That’s worth more than money and gold.

Oh, and to be honest – having it all would mean that I have control and power within my own life. That I get to chose what it is that I need, want and desire. That, I get to follow my dreams, like writing and publishing a book (successfully). Is it attainable? It is if I believe it is, and conversely, it isn’t if I believe it isn’t.
