Exactly what I am doing now.

What things give you energy?

As I write this I am mid-break on a glorious sun-drenched morning. I’ve got my noise cancelling headphones on, they block out unnecessary ‘noise’ while filling my body and soul with eclectic beats. Every window and door is open, allowing heavily jasmine and lavender scented air to waft in and lift my spirits. I’m knee deep in spring cleaning- washing floors, bathrooms and every nook & cranny. I have incense and essential oils adding to the ambiance. My indoor plants are healthy and vibrant, adding to the illusion of nature within my home. I also put some gorgeous window film on a few glass panelled doors- allowing prisms of light filled rainbows to dance upon my walls. By simply doing what is needed, yet spicing it up I am adding energy. I feel alive, awake and willing to add more beauty, colour, texture, sound, fragrance and creativity to my life. My mind is in sync with my body and spirit, each fuelling the other. Ok break over – I’ve got to take my ordinary day and make it extraordinary. Plus, not too mention I’ve already spent time out in the garden and stood in child-like awe and wonder watching the bees devour the spring pollen. I also saw that the Avocado tree that I grew from seed is finally flowering after 7 years. My mango tree is also looking like it will fruit. So what gives me energy? Making space by getting rid of stale cluttered crap and creating space to welcome something new. Last weekend we finally put up my small walk-in green house, after dismantling something that although looked good, had no functional value or purpose. Today will be spent doing some research and planning and then hopefully off to Bunnings to buy some plants, soil and supplies to create raised garden beds. I get energy by doing when I feel energetic, and conversely resting when my body says “time out”. Listening to my intuition saves me energy.
