Selectively Juggling

Hopefully, in all honesty I can say “myself”. That is I hope with each new trip around the sun, and with every new lived experience , that I am learning, growing and evolving into a better version of myself. Conversely, I’d like to say “humanity” in general, however witnessing all the violence, political regression, war, attempted genocides etc that are happening now, in real time, I’d have to be a fool to believe humanity is improving. Yes, there are glimmers and glimpses of hope, of light, but they are being drowned out by the cacophonous sounds of racism, misogyny, political violence, homophobia, transphobia and other forms of persecution. One would hope we could learn from history, learn from the mistakes of the past, but as I look around the globe I am greeted by the depressing sights of a political and societal move to the regressive right, where human rights are being stripped away, racial hatred is fuelling war. I have hope that human decency will win out, and we as individuals and a collective will pull ourselves out of the violent vortex we are being sucked in to.
