Selectively Juggling

I much prefer heat, being Australian I’m usually spoiled for good weather. Add to this I literally love to swim every day. However, having said that I love getting away during mid-winter, going camping, rigging up against the chill, and sitting around a campfire for warmth, cooking and ambiance. I’ve only experienced snow a few times (In Europe and the Alps, and on Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain). The strange thing is that I have a deep deep calling, a longing to travel to Finnish Lapland and Norway during mid- winter. I long to walk through snow encased forests, ride a dog sled/snow mobile and experience the thrill of jumping in arctic cold water and then warming up in a sauna. I want to feel my cheeks burn bright red from the frigid temperatures. I want to breathe in the thin cold air, and marvel at magical hinterland before me. They say there really is no bad weather to travel, only a lack of preparation and decent equipment (I beg to differ as we’ve all seen just how much the climate and weather systems have changed, or been affected)
