Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
Hey girl, you did it! You found your own rhythm and pace, you had tenacity, wisdom, strength and grace. You learned to balance life, your roles as mother and wife. You found your passion and purpose, deeply sated, not just on the surface. You allowed your mind to grow, and your sense of inner-child to flow. You surrounded yourself with joy, immersed yourself in warrior-woman spirit. When life threw trauma, loss and challenges your way, you sailed right on, choosing not to fear it. You’re my hero, my guiding light. I’m grateful for your strength, intuition, compassion and self-belief. After all we are from the same tree, just a different version of the same leaf.
You got us through the deepest chasms of despair, crawled your way out so we could breathe healing air. You soldiered on, not losing your way. Ever effervescence, even when you grew wrinkled and grey. Your deep sense of self, longing and fun, had immense power, turning rain clouds to sun.
Thank you for being just as you are. My spirit, my heart, my guiding star. Thank you for carrying me at your core, just as you did for all our versions before. You’re deeply faceted, a lioness, you did your upmost, your very best.
So from this younger version of us, I say keep on being yourself, you can’t go wrong.
Love me/us/you
