Selectively Juggling

Yes, I absolutely love my job. I have real autonomy, I’m challenged intellectually and emotionally (which is a really good thing). In fact my job is quite bespoke, and as such I can get out of it as much as I put in. I have a wonderfully supportive manager, who leads by example. She also values my professional opinion, and gives me ample opportunities to extend myself. My eclectic colleagues are also talented and supportive. I love that I get to use my individual and group counselling skills, intuition, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, research and writing skills in a way which assists individuals and families to achieve greater health and wellbeing. My job marries the cerebral with the visceral. I feel a sense of purpose.

I know that I am extremely lucky to feel this way. Having said that, my job is not my dream job. My dream job is to be a full time writer & photographer.
