If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?
I would say in this moment I would like to possibly meet Pliny The Elder, who was an Ancient Roman naturalist, prolific writer, lawyer, naval commander and philosopher, amongst other things. He wrote the monumental ‘Natural Histories’ which is pretty much the precursor to our contemporary encyclopedias. He died in 79AD during the Mt Versuvius eruption that effectively buried Pompeii and Herculaneum under layers of volcanic ash. I’d say he would have been a man of great intelligence, curiosity and observational skills. Surely he’d be an interesting person, who could acutely detail what life was like in Ancient Rome.
