What’s your all-time favorite album?
I adore music. I love the inherent power within music to transform, enliven, awaken, calm, heal, arouse, temper and deepen emotions, thoughts and memories. My musical tastes are quite varied. However, I cannot handle hard metal music, it the musical equivalent to hard-gore and horror. I find it discordant and too violent on my musical sensitivities.
My favourites albums and artists are too great in number to mention. They come from many genres (excluding hard heavy metal) decades, cultures and languages. I love 1980’s type new wave romantic punk, like The Cure’, 1990’s soft rock styles of ‘The Verve’ and 2000’s ‘Kodaline’. I love love love Icelandic Singer and Musician Asgeir. I love his hauntingly beautiful lyrics his music exemplifies my experience of Iceland. It transport me to an otherworldly place. I’ve seen him live several times, and his brilliance is genuine. I love Sami music, again haunting sounds sung in a language I don’t understand, yet their meaning, emotion and energy transcends the language barrier.
My music reflects mood, emotions and thoughts. My musical choices will reflect those moods, emotions and thoughts. I also love listening to meditative nature sounds. I also love techno type beats, reggae, house, electronic, 1980s, 1990s, contemporary music. Oh, I’m also not a fan of American country music, at all. It feels contrived and depressing. But please, no hard rock or heavy metal it actually hurts my musical sensitivity.
