Where did your name come from?
I’m the 8th child of 10 children, the 4th girl of six sisters. Apparently when I was born my mum and dad loved my rosy cheeky , button nose and cherub lips. I actually was named after my mum (yeah confusing growing up trying to determine whether it me or my mum being called) I was also named after my great grandmother, who apparently was a very special lady., highly intuitive and compassionate. She held a very special place in my mum’s heart. Why did I get chosen to receive my mum’s name? Not too sure! In fact I disliked my boring and old-fashioned name. I’d actually use a different name when going out as a teenager, as I didn’t feel like my name captured who I was. I’m still not a fan of my name, but use it 100% of the time now. After all, I wear many hats and answer to many names. Aren’t we all more than just the mere sum of our names? They don’t define us or give us meaning and value. It is our intentions and actions which do that. Perhaps one day, I’ll learn to like it, or even love it. Until then I simply wear it.
