Gentleness

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

My Dad had always ingrained in me the absolute necessity to be a kind and compassionate human being. He also strongly reiterated his belief that kindness, including the Random Acts of Kindness shouldn’t be broadcast for the whole world to see, rather they were meant to be hidden. I don’t how you feel about that, but I still hold it close to my heart. In fact I’m sure it’s now one of the many faces of my multifaceted internal moral compass. However, I think that given the often dire state of this world people benefit from hearing people’s Random Acts of Kindness. So to flip this question on its head, the nicest Random Act of Kindness I’ve received was an older lady seeing I was struggling as a new mum (to a child with special needs) offered to buy me a coffee. We then found a quiet space and sat and talked. I felt seen, I felt like I mattered. I wasn’t defensive, but vulnerable and open. It was a random act, I never saw her again, but her positive words and gentleness still remain.
